Go to the MetaMask website.
Click on the download button and choose your browser.
Follow the prompts to install the extension.
Setup
Create a New Wallet:
After installing, open MetaMask and click "Get Started".
Choose "Create a Wallet".
Set a strong password for your wallet.
Save the secret backup phrase provided by MetaMask in a secure location (this is crucial for recovering your wallet).
Import an Existing Wallet:
Instead of creating a new wallet, select "Import Wallet".
Enter your secret backup phrase and set a new password.
Using MetaMask
Adding Funds:
Click on "Add Funds".
You can buy ETH through integrated services or deposit ETH from another wallet.
Connecting to dApps:
When you visit a dApp that supports MetaMask, you’ll see a prompt to connect your wallet.
Approve the connection to start interacting with the dApp.
Sending and Receiving ETH and Tokens:
To send ETH, click "Send", enter the recipient’s address, the amount, and confirm the transaction.
To receive ETH, copy your wallet address and share it with the sender.
Custom Tokens:
You can add custom ERC-20 tokens by clicking "Import Tokens" and entering the token's contract address.
Security Tips
Backup Your Seed Phrase: Keep it in a secure location; do not share it with anyone.
Use Hardware Wallets: For added security, consider using MetaMask with a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor.
Beware of Phishing: Always check URLs and ensure you are on the correct site. Do not click on suspicious links or provide your seed phrase to anyone.
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues: If MetaMask isn’t connecting to a dApp, try refreshing the page or restarting your browser.
Network Issues: Ensure you are on the correct Ethereum network (Mainnet, Ropsten, etc.) by checking the network dropdown in MetaMask.
